How to tie a Hot Chocolate Chironomid
This fly was renamed thanks to the help of Kyle. It has been in my box for some time. A slight evolution on other foam emergers for the larger Chironomid cousin. This fly has had a few renditions over time. In it’s current form I find it to be simple yet realistic. It works wonders in stillwater under an indicator accompanied by a leach, bugger or damsel nymph. The foam wing helps it sit upright and ride like the naturals. Movement with this fly can be key in helping it look like an emerging bug making its burst to the surface.
