How to tie The CDC Soft Hackle Carrot
The Soft Hackle Carrot is a fly that has been gaining a lot of popularity in the States over the last few years but has a long history of success in competition fishing overseas. This variation is one of my favorite Euro patterns, but don’t be afraid to take off the bead, change the hook, and fish it as a dropper or swing it like a traditional soft hackle fly. The orange rib and CDC collar are the two materials you should keep constant. Change the CDC color to add your twist, my favorites are Mahogany Brown, Natural Dun, and Olive.
