How To Tie The Micro Mayfly

We all love the days of emerging Mayflies and dry fly fishing. However, when the mayflies aren’t in full swing you need a fly that will produce subsurface. In comes the Micro Mayfly. This pattern created by Umpqua Feather Merchants signature tyer Mike Mercer is a killer mayfly imitation. The slim profile and adaptive color options make this fly a must in any fly anglers box. Euro nymph this pattern with larger lead weighted patterns to help it hit the right column or dead drift it under an indicator with some added split shot to get similar results.
