How to tie a Skinny Dip Crystal
Even if you don’t think you do, chances are you have seen this fly in one variation or another. This tends to happen with midge patterns often. The Skinny Dip Krystal is an evolved pattern. Starting as the Serendipity or 3 dollar dip named for the famed 3 dollar bridge that crosses the Madison River in Montana. Add in a bit more flash and bingo, you have the Skinny Dip Krystal. Like many midge emergers this is a year-round great. It is excellent trailing on a three fly rig (when allowed) but also shines under a lightweight dry as a dropper. Don’t forget your midges. Fish love ‘em!
