How to tie the Trigger Nymph
Mike Mercers Trigger Nymph is a summertime favorite. This natural style nymph has one of the more creative ways of incorporating a “trigger” or hot spot on a bug. It utilizes mostly natural materials but sneaks in some flashy ice dub to help get fish into the feeding mood. It can be tied to imitate various mayfly and stonefly nymphs. From BWO’s, PMD’s and Hexagenia’s to larger golden or dark stoneflies. With a weighted bead it is great in a multi nymph rig or even as a dropper under a large to midsized dry.
