How To Tie The Masked Bandit – Fly Tying

The Masked Bandit

Bob Reece’s Masked Bandit is a new age streamer pattern that is not only a joy to tie but a blast to fish. Bob believes that the addition of the Fly Men Co. Fish Mask and Living Eyes help to create the tapered head and bulbous eyes needed to correctly imitate small minnows. The version tied here is a slight variation of the Black version offered by Umpqua Feather Merchants. The change from black Kreelex to the Silver/Red blend converts this pattern into more of an attractor. The masked bandit can be dead drifted or stripped. Spite the masked bandit’s size it does not disappoint producing fish of all sizes and some vicious takes.
