Learn how to tie the Special K Jig Kreelex
The best way to start your day is with the Special K. My evolution of the Kreelex fly has become this variation. The Special K is built on a jig hook to perform as a micro streamer in a variety of trout fishing situations. Not only that but it will work double duty in your warm water box as well. The natural movement of Kreelex makes it a great streamer material. It stays low profile while offering great subsurface viability and movement. I love fishing this behind a larger streamer such as Kelly Galloup’s Dungeon series or Charlie Cravens Gongas. If you move a fish with a larger streamer but it doesn’t commit this little guy gives a second opportunity without changing the dynamics of the first fly too much. If you aren’t into throwing larger flies and tight line nymph instead. This bug is a great option for pulling across seams and into pockets. You will move a lot of fish!
