Learn how to tie the Jigged Wired Poison Tung
The Jigged Wired Poison Tung is a current shop favorite and was originally inspired by Charlie Craven’s Poison Tung. This fly is not only easy to tie but can also be tied up in plenty of different color variations. The fly utilizes a wire body and tungsten bead head which allows it to effectively get down into the feeding zone. We love tying this pattern up in the purple variation, but we encourage those tying this pattern to try it in some other colors like orange, red, and even green. Ingredients & Recipe
- Hook: Fulling Mill FM5125 or MFC Tactical Jig Sz 18
- Bead: Fulling Mill Matte Black, 7/64″
- Thread: Semperfli Nano Silk 12/0 Black
- Tailing: Whiting Farms CDL, Grizzly Pardo
- Body: Semperfli Tying Wire,.2 Black and Deep Purple ** You can also try to mix and match some colors for more customization!
- Collar: Hends Spectra in a black UV or Purple Hue ( Violet Dark works well)
- Vise – Mongoose Vice
- Scissors – Dr. Slick Arrow Point
- Bodkin – Rising Stout Bodkin
