How to tie the Dinner Bell
The Dinner Bell calls in the pigs. This pattern is an excellent saltwater fly, but has transformed into a great silver fly for me. The color combinations are endless, and it has some great action in the water. We like that the weight is more in the middle/ back of the fly which sinks it more evenly. When you strip and pause, the fly rides hook point up and slowly drops evenly instead of diving nose first, giving it a more natural look. Redfish, tarpon, and salmon all love this fly. Who would guess? We think this pattern downsized would be killer for some trout.
