How to tie the Morgan’s Midge:
The secret is out and has been for a while… Morgans Midge is a guide’s favorite. This tiny tailwater treat is a go to midge pattern for picky trout rising to midge adults. When Midges rise to the surface and are trying to break free into flight, they must shed their adolescent shuck. This creates a light shimmer in the surface film that is perfectly imitated by a little flash off the back of the fly. This bug is best tied small in sizes 20 – 24. If you are getting refusals on your Griffiths Gnat, small Adams or other traditional dries give this one a go and you may be happy with the result!
