How to tie the Shipman Buzzer:
The Shipman Buzzer is a deadly stillwater fly designed by Dave Shipman many years ago. This fly is indented to be fished in the surface film when fish are feeding on Chironomids that are shedding their shuck. You can sink it under an indicator and use CDC in place of the Antron, or use foam in place of the Antron to give it some more floatability. This pattern can be spun up in many different colors and sizes to imitate your local bugs. The Shipman Buzzer can be tied in black and pearl variation, which is one of our favorites. This is a must have pattern for your lake box! The Shipman Buzzer is one of those staple patterns that will help you land fish when you don’t know what to use.
