How to tie a Conehead Pig Pen Leech:
Don’t let the name fool you, this fly is more than just a Leech. The Pig Pen Leech is a cross between a Bugger and a Bunny Leech with a little craw mixed in. I don’t know if there is a better material for streamers than rabbit. Bunny hair just seems to pulse and move in a lifelike manor that fish can’t ignore. This small streamer works well for warmwater species like Bass and Pike but also translates nicely over to big trout. I love this fly on waters where there is a large crawdad/crayfish population. It is best presented deep while skipping across the bottom. The Pig Pen Leech is a great streamer for any fly angler’s box!
