How to tie a Mercury Cased Caddis Variation:
This week we are looking at the Mercury Cased Caddis. A fly at this point that you may feel comfortable calling a classic. The version tied here is an updated modern take. Utilizing some of the innovative and unique materials by Firehole Outdoors, this fly is simple and deadly. It is an overweighted bug that is intended to be fished deep. It is perfect incorporated into a Euro style rig or under an indicator. This little fly pops thanks to the bug band and seals the deal with the natural Hare’s Ear Dubbing. The Firehole Mercury Cased Caddis is one of my favorite summertime caddis larva fly patterns.
