How to tie The Stillwater Nymph

“If you are like me, you are thinking of ice off all year. When the time comes you want to be ready. The Stillwater Nymph, designed by Denny Rickards is a must-have in your lake box. This hybrid-style nymph pattern is a great all-around attractor but is best fished as a damsel/dragonfly nymph or even in smaller sizes a Callibaetis. It can be easily adapted in size and color to fit the bill. The key to this pattern is the right depth and movement. Experiment with sinking lines and retrieves until you find the pattern that fish are interested in on that particular day. Once you have the formula the fly will do the rest of the work for you.”
