How to tie The UV Juan Worm
The UV Juan Worm created by Mickey Anderson a member of the Utah Fly Fishing Hall of Fame is a must-have attractor in any box. Like the Pig Sticker tied by our own Max Pavel in a previous tutorial, this fly kicks big fishes’ butt. It’s a play on the classic San Juan Worm that takes the advantage of a red octopus style hook for its profile. Simply build an Antron body over top add a hotspot and fish! This is a great starter fly for any new tyer as it’s a simple tie, uses just a few materials, helps practice techniques that will be used time and time again. Don’t be afraid of the worms and go match that annelid hatch! Fish love ‘em!
