Elk Hair Caddis
The Elk Hair Caddis, do you need another dry fly?! Well maybe if you are targeting smaller Mayflies but for a wide range of bugs this fly will get it done. With a super buoyant wing, provided by the great and powerful Elk this fly gets the job done. If you saw my dry fly box you would see how much importance this fly carries for me. The name makes it obvious that this is a Caddis fly imitation but it works as an overall attractor as well imitating smaller terrestrials and some larger mayflies. As soon as the weather warms up and I see fish looking up I give this pattern a go and am usually pleased with the results.
