The Smoke Jumper
Fish be jumping like they are getting smoked out, all because you have a Smoke Jumper fly emerging. This pattern, created by Mike Hoiness out of Billings Montana is a go to emerger pattern for a wide variety of aquatic insects.
Originally created to imitate emerging midges, it can be adjust the size and color to very easily represent a wide range of emerging bugs such as mayflies and caddis flies. I love fishing this fly in a dropper rig under as it is lightweight and can be supported by smaller dries. Not only that but it fishes great as a lead fly in a multiple fly rig.
