The Buckskin Jig
While most people prefer a slim bodied Buckskin, (AKA Chamois Caddis) this chunky Euro Style Buckskin version in the right conditions is one of my most productive patterns. With a large amount of weight between the lead wire and the over sized tungsten bead it helps get you down to the larva zone.
I have always been a fan of the mercury bead that imitates a emerging insects bubble concept made famous by Pat Dorsey. Considering this while wanting a weighted bug evolved the silver tungsten bead. This pattern brings me the most success fished deep year round, typically during the low light periods of the day.
