The Comparadun
The Comparadun is an extremely versatile pattern that fish love to slurp. Although it may be daunting looking at the fan wing that is a staple for this pattern, with a little practice you will be a pro in no time. Comparaduns are excellent at imitating emerging mayflies that are still trying to or have just broken free from the water’s surface tension.
The effectiveness of this pattern may come from the easy mean this struggle presents to the fish below. Comparaduns are excellent when fished alone or behind a larger attractor dry fly. If you are fishing smaller sizes to match the hatch and having a hard time seeing your fly, try a Vis-A-Dun or attach a Palsa Pinch On indicator a few inches above to help track your drift
