How To Tie The Balanced Ghost (Balanced Leech): Fly Tying Video

The Balanced Ghost (Balanced Leech)

The balanced leech is fished best under an indicator in stillwaters when there is some wind causing top water disturbance to give constant action and movement to your fly. 10-20 feet of water seems ideal over weed beds. Tied in many colors, this fly is great for imitating a leech or a minnow. Try tying one today!

This month for Fly Tying Month we are tying TWICE a week along with all our other sales and giveaways! Join us every Friday during March to join in on the fun of an extra fly tying tutorial! Check out our Bench Guide to learn all the details.

How To Tie The Chart Baetis: Fly Tying Video

The Chart Baetis

A great baetis pattern to fish deep or in discolored or high/off colored water. A tungsten bead helps get rig down quick in turbulent water. I will also tie with couple other color matte beads. I like the fluorescent orange and the caddis green bead. Also try tying this fly from 16-22 hook sizes. An easy tie and very effective. Designed by Max Pavel.

How To Tie The Bubble Back Midge: Fly Tying Video

How To Tie The Bubble Back Midge: Fly Tying Video

The Bubble Back Midge

Effective midge pattern especially on Colorado Rivers. Tied in sizes 18-24. Good replacement for when the classic zebra isn’t getting as many takers as you would like. Fish it like you would any other midge pupae. Get it down and be ready for the subtle midge eats. Mix and match colors to get what you want. White with a pearl krystal flash rib can make a mean mysis imitation.

The most realistic fish pattern out there. The Fish-Skull articulated spine gives the fly a super realistic swim in the water. This fly can be tied or colored to represent any fish in the water.
