“I’ve been using this system fly box for nearly 20 years now. I’ve got to say it is the easiest and most versatile fly box I have ever used. About the same time that I started with this box system, I bought a small chest pack from Fishpond (unfortunately it is no longer available), but the chest pack had a drop down front fly holder with ripple foam mounted inside. Ripple foam is close to useless, and I immediately tore that out and using Velcro mounted a C&F Designs small system box. It fit perfectly and the replaceable leads allowed me to quickly change the fly selection I wanted to carry.
No longer did I have to carry around a 20 pound vest with every possible fly or accessory tucked away somewhere.
For a long time I had trouble finding new C&F Design insertable leads or more fly boxes. That is until I found AvidMax. I’m now catching up on acquiring all those pages and boxes I’ve been seeking for so long.
If you are looking to become a more efficient fly angler, or to lighten your load hanging around your neck, this is the way to go. I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’ve been fly fishing for 57 years and this is by far one of the best innovations I’ve seen in the time. It’s right up there with graphite rods and lightweight, durable waders.“
