Avalon Permit Fly – Video Tying Instructions

Video tutorial courtesy of our friends at InTheRiffle

The Avalon Permit Fly is a Permit fly developed by Mauro Ginevri. Don’t be fooled by the name “permit fly”. The Avalon is extremely effective on Bonefish, Redfish and many other flats species. The Avalon Permit Fly is a shrimpy and crabby blend, making it very enticing for large permit. This beads in this fly help it sink quickly to get down in front of permit even in deep water. The Avalon sinks with the hook up and straight to the bottom. The beads that help the Avalon sink, also make “clicking” noises as the fly is stripped. This is thought to imitate the same sounds as a Mantis shrimp or other “crustaceousny” type noises. Fun and easy to tie, the Avalon is a must have in your Permit box!!
